Years after

R. A. SIMPSON(1929-)

I see myself after the coup of twenty years ago,
Remember light encouraging the lean, new leaves.
My name is filed by the State,
But the worst order is my old age.

Like coral seen beneath the sea,
My days, my years, have left their minute sceletons
As firm as abstract monuments
That tell of public days of terror and colour.
